In the book the Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan Sadie and Carter face difficult struggles. For example are hosts for two gods, Horus and Isis. When Carter and Sadie find out that they are hosts for the gods they soon understand what happened at the museum. Soon they got to save their father who was captured by Set. They have to control the powers they have. But encounter Zia and other allies. When they go through each place more things make sense.
The author wants us to know that at the end of their journey most of their answers will be solved just like in real life. Sadie and Carter go through short training because they have guidance from their gods. Horus was king of Egypt and many other places. This doesn't fit Carter's personality because he doesn't have the characteristics of a king. Sadie does have the characteristics because she shows. Her wisdom and bravery. Although Carter may not fit the characteristics of a king he shouldn't be judged. People can be what they want depending on how much they want it.
Teenagers in our society judge from the outside and not the inside. Many people do judge from what you are to your personality. Carter showed leadership which qualified him to be able to be the host for Horus, why else would he have chosen Carter if he wasn't qualified? Carter and Sadie's family both have king blood. Kids in our days may think that someone else is lower than them because of then way they dress or how they act. But like many people say don't judge a book by its cover.
Like you said, "don't judge a book by its cover" is a very good rule to live by. People judge all too often on appearances and reputations. If we all got to know each other a little bit before judging, we weould all get along a lot better.
ReplyDeleteGood job! It is very true what you said about teenagers; we overwork judgement. At times, it may be more necessary. Like if you see a hooded figure in a dark alleyway, you're not gonna say "Wanna get a coffee sometime? I'm feeling some very strong judgement towards you, but I'd rather know everything about you first.". No, you would walk away and try to forget. Sometimes, judgement is needed, but most of the time it is cruel.
ReplyDeleteNice post Freddy! Like what Sophie said, "don't judge a book by its cover" makes a lot of sense for many situations. A lot of times you really don't know someones full story even though you may make assumptions about them based on small things you see. So you shouldn't judge them when you don't know what they're going through. Even though often your instincts are right about things like that, you shouldn't completely listen to them or judge that person when you don't know what they've been through or whats inside of them.
ReplyDeletenice post Freddy. i do think that sometimes people judge people on how they look which inst always the right thing to do. it has its exception just like Amanda said. you never know a person that looks mean may actually be the nicest person you met.
